For the next couple of weeks we will be exploring measures, particularly focussing on length and height. It would be great to make comparisons when you're out about, questionning the children on what things are longer, taller, smaller or shorter. You may like to give the children a ruler or tape measure to practise using at home. Perhaps you may like to try a game or activity to consolidate or practise some of this learning. You can choose the relevant challenges on Karate Cats, dance along with the length and height Super Movers, try a measures game or have a go at the White Rose parent packs for length.
If you want to keep up the arithmetic practise, don't forget Daily Ten or Hit the Button.
These packs cover all the Year 1 Maths units. They will be useful for consolidating much of the work we have done and be useful for those children that may be finding the move to Year 2 units challenging. There are lots to choose from, please don't feel that you have to do them all!! We hope you find them useful.
