Lesson 1

We learnt about mechanisms and how different mechanisms made different movements. We made a slider, lever and linkage mechanism. 

Lesson 2

We made mechanisms, that had an axle, a concentric cam and a follower. These are our prototypes and we will use these to make a variety of cams to explore what movement they make. 

Lesson 3

We made different shaped cams from a template including a snail cam, heart cam, elliptical cam, hexagonal cam and square cam. We then tried them in our mechanisms to see what movement the follower made each time.  We discussed the movement and which was our favourite.
