Footy success

Despite the tricky conditions, both Chickerell and Southill were keen to play, following a large period of time where this has simply not been possible.

Southill started strongly and put Chickerell under pressure from the start, deservedly going ahead with a well taken goal. However, the team showed great resilience and did not drop their heads. They re-grouped and started to take control. Keenan equalised after a strong run, firing confidently past the goalkeeper. The score at half-time was 1-1, with Chickerell in the ascendancy.

This continued in the second half, with Southill battling hard to stop Chickerell from going ahead. However, eventually the pressure told as Jamie put Chickerell into the lead. Chickerell continued to play superbly as a team, working together to score a further three goals through Keenan, Rowan and Jamie (2). The final score, 6-1 to Chickerell, did not reflect the strong, determined performance put forward by Southill. Chickerell needed to be at their best to get the victory.

Man of the Match: Jamie
